99 Verified Case Studies.
Real Problems.
Documented Solutions.
This is not a collection of success stories. It is the result of systematically reviewing 8,400+ industry sources — from OSHA field investigations, McKinsey productivity research, KPMG global surveys, and direct fabricator/erector project reports — and extracting every documented problem/solution pair that meets our inclusion criteria.
Each case study contains a defined problem, a specific solution, a measurable outcome, and a replicability rating. Nothing is included without all four elements.
"The firms that win are not more creative. They are more informed about what has already been proven to work."
78% of the highest-rated cases involve technology integration, delivery method innovation, or single-source coordination.
The best solutions address 3+ pain points simultaneously. Point solutions are the most expensive kind.
83% reduction in beam placement time. 456 meters of tunnelling per month. World record.

Aluminum Dynamics — 176-ft Mega-Span Joist Girders
Columbus, MS · New Millennium
176-ft clear span industrial facility; 1,000,000 lbs tension per girder; transportation constraints for 128-inch-deep members.
World-class clear span achieved; field-splice strategy solved transport; single-source eliminated coordination.
Jones County School — Energy-Positive Integrated Acoustical Deck
Trenton, NC · ENR Project of Year Finalist
Rural K-12 needed energy-positive performance AND acoustic separation between grade levels in a single building system.
ENR Project of Year finalist; energy-positive K-12; dual-function deck eliminated separate acoustic trade.
Mandan High School — 145-ft Bowstring Joists
Mandan, ND · New Millennium
School gymnasium requiring 145-ft clear span; multiple joist profiles required in single comprehensive package.
145-ft clear span delivered; comprehensive multi-profile package from single source.
Verizon Switching Center — Vibration-Controlled Mission-Critical Floors
Telecommunications facility · New Millennium
Mission-critical telecom facility required floor systems meeting strict vibration criteria incompatible with standard steel deck.
Vibration criteria met; mission-critical operations protected.
Rogers-O'Brien — Precast Panel Safety Bracket
Field erection innovation · Rogers-O'Brien Construction
Workers installing precast concrete panels at height with no standard fall protection; caught-between injury risk.
Eliminated caught-between injuries; ABC Safety Excellence Award; adopted industry-wide.
BIM + NSGA-II Multi-Objective Joint Optimization
Research application · Academic/Industry
Steel joint design optimized for either stress or fabrication cost — never both simultaneously.
Stress concentration −26.8%, fabrication cycle −37.5%, rework reduced to 1.2%.
Larsen & Toubro — Supply Chain Indigenization
Mumbai, India · KPMG 2023
Pandemic supply chain collapse threatened India's largest infrastructure programs; no domestic source for complex TBMs.
World record 456 m/month tunnelling on Mumbai Coastal Road; self-manufactured TBM.
400+ Structural Failure Analysis — Human Error as Primary Cause
Global construction · Industry research
Industry lacked rigorous analysis of why structural failures occur and which project phase is most failure-prone.
400+ failures analysed: gross human error is primary cause; construction phase most failure-prone (not design).
Key Finding — The Winning Pattern
78% of the highest-rated case studies share one of three characteristics: technology integration, delivery method innovation, or single-source coordination. These three solution archetypes produce disproportionate value because they address multiple pain points simultaneously.
Point solutions — technology, process, or contractual change applied to a single problem — consistently underperform. The highest-ROI interventions operate across category boundaries.
This is the architectural principle behind xPM.
How These Case Studies Were Selected
Inclusion criteria are strict. Every case study that appears in this registry earned its place.
Defined Problem
A clearly stated problem — specific, not generic. "Inadequate fall protection during precast panel installation at height" qualifies. "Safety was a concern" does not.
Specific Solution
A documented action: a specific tool, method, technology, or process deployed. Not a recommendation. Not a framework. An actual intervention that happened.
Measurable Outcome
A quantified result OR a clearly stated qualitative outcome with sufficient specificity. "83% reduction in beam placement time" qualifies. "Improved safety culture" does not.
Replicability
Sufficient detail for another firm to understand the solution and consider applying it. If the case study cannot inform future action, it is not included.
How Every Case Study Is Rated
One score. Four components. No subjective adjectives.
EFFECTIVENESS SCORE = Composite of four components
Source credibility is also factored. A case study from a peer-reviewed academic paper or federal investigation carries higher weight than a company's own marketing case study. The source type (CS-R / CS-C / CS-S / CS-A) is displayed on every case study record so readers can assess source type independently.
All 99 Case Studies — Individual Records
Complete transparency: We share these documented case studies with all project stakeholders — owners, contractors, fabricators, and engineers — to align understanding and drive collaborative solutions.

Applied to Your Project.
Every case study in this registry was selected because it is replicable. The question is not whether solutions exist for your problems. The question is which ones apply to your specific project — and in what order.
Bring one active steel project during NASCC 2026. We will run your project against our full 99-case registry and identify which documented solutions are directly applicable — by category, by phase, and by severity.
